Ah… I feel so much better now after the scream. Sorry if I scared anyone. I’ve got to hand it to the many of you who manage to find time to write here on WordPress with regularity. I’m just busy, that’s all. So… no, I was not taken hostage, nor do you need to send out the search parties wondering if I’ll wash up ashore, and please no candlelight vigils, for I am alive and well. Just a bit preoccupied, that’s all.
I know I’ve been a bit sparse around here and at your sites leaving my snarky little comments, but it doesn’t mean I don’t love you anymore. I’ll get back into the swing of things soon. In the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans, and best wishes for a terrific week to everyone else. Until we meet again, adieu!
Another full moon tonight. June’s moon is called the Rose Moon or sometimes here referred to as the Strawberry Moon. With precious little time to write, I thought I’d instead celebrate another full moon with a Beethoven’s Piano Sonata no. 14, op. 27 no. 2, more commonly known (and more easily remembered) as Moonlight Sonata. Here it is in all three movements:
Enjoy. I’ll be scarce most of this week. Until we meet again…
There is so much going on in my world this week; a confluence of milestones and events, it makes my mind spin. By the time this post will hit the ether of the Internet, Thursday, the 10th of May will mark 32 years since I said, “I do!” to my lovely bride. I will try not to wax too sentimental, but I cannot believe how quickly the time passes when you spend it surrounded with ones you adore. As if that wasn’t enough to keep me busy, my son graduates this weekend. Friday will be the main commencement address, and the keynote speaker will be Michelle Obama. Saturday is the college specific ceremony when my son will actually be given his diploma. And let’s not forget that Sunday is Mother’s Day. Whew!
Yes dear readers, I’m afraid I won’t be around much till next week. I’ll be too busy with a marathon of parties and soirees that will steal me from writing much here. When I return, I’ll need you all to promise me you’ll make me refrain from boring you to death with all the details.
While I’m gone, please feel free to wander about the Random Thoughts home, eat whatever is in the fridge, pour whatever you want from the bar, and have fun with each other in the comments section. I’ll be missing you all.
To all the mothers out there who have labored tirelessly in your role, please accept my sentiments for a most Happy Mother’s Day. Take a well deserved bow for all the work you’ve done.
To my wife – we danced to this song 32 years ago, and the lyric still holds true to the core. “I’ll always love you – forever.”
I’ll be away for most of the week due to a death in the family. As a result, I’ll be scarce once more around these parts, so if you don’t see any snarky comments from me, it isn’t because I don’t love you anymore, just that I’m unavailable. Don’t fret, for I’ll catch up when I return.
In the meantime, feel free to grab something refreshing from the bar, sneak over to the fridge for a snack, and pop a few coins in the jukebox if you’re so inclined. Try not to make a big mess, and of course, behave (or maybe not)! I’ll be back soon.
It’s getting late, the Dinner Party has run its course and appears to be long done, clean up crews have scrubbed and detailed the Random Thoughts home from top to bottom, and the place seems a bit quiet and empty. All the rowdy guests migrated over to Mardi Gras, and I’m happy to report all had fun with no serious problems, save for a few morning-after headaches experienced by a few of our followers.
Me? I’ll be traveling the next few days. I’ll be scarce around these parts, but tonight I think I’ll pour myself a nice elixir from the bar and toss a few coins in the Jukebox for the evening as I unwind a little before turning in for the evening. Come on and join me. Go ahead, walk over the the bar. There’s a guy in a white jacket and black bow-tie waiting to serve you. Kick off your shoes and put up your feet, or, if you are so inclined, grab your sweetheart and spend a few moments dancing cheek to cheek. I’ll start it off with a few from the Billie Holiday songbook – such a hauntingly soulful voice.
While I’m gone, feel free to throw a few coins in the ole Jukebox and dial up a song of your choice in the comment section below. Anything goes – any style, artist, and genre. I’d love to hear what you pick out. I’ll try to peek in whenever I can to get a listen. In the meantime, enjoy the company of each other and behave. Or maybe not…
I will be away these next few days, so I will not be around to ponder and blog about any random thoughts, nor will I have time to do what I truly enjoy most around here – comment on all your wonderful blogs I enjoy reading so very much. So if you are wondering why this Bill-The-Cat character hasn’t dropped in and poked you with a snarky comment or two, it is not because I don’t love you anymore. I’ll just be busy for a few days.
If you should become bored or are in search of something interesting to read, I urge you all to look at the sidebar to the right and click on a few “Blogroll” sites I have so much fun visiting. You’ll be glad you did.
I promise to catch up reading you all when I return. Have a terrific weekend everyone!
